Location

We are in the South Cliff or Esplanade area of Scarborough – this is to the south side of the town and close to the cliffs above the Spa Complex and south bay.

Directions

Esplanade Road is a one way street – but the two halves of Esplanade Road are one way in different directions, so if you are driving it can be tricky to find us from the Esplanade because you need to come in to our half of the road from Ramshill/Filey Road, the A165.

Coming in to Scarborough on the A64

Follow signs to Scarborough and you will pass a series of stores on your right (Dean’s Garden Centre, Halfords) continue through the traffic lights past those until you see B&Q on your right – then turn right at the next set of lights on to Queen Margaret’s Road (follow signs to South Cliff), which takes you over the railway and round the side of Oliver’s Mount. At the traffic lights at the end of Queen Margaret’s Road turn left and Esplanade Road is the first right – with the Italian Restaurant, Tuscany Too, on the corner. We are down the road on the left, towards the junction with West Street.

Coming to Scarborough on the A165 from Filey

Follow signs to Scarborough and as you descend into Scarborough you will pass the University and Sports Centre on your left, then Bramcotes School on your right. At the traffic lights go straight ahead, but prepare immediately to take the first right with the Italian Restaurant, Tuscany Too, on the corner. We are down the road on the left, towards the junction with West Street.

Coming from Scarborough Town Centre or the sea front

Follow signs to Filey A165. As you pass over the Valley Bridge from town or come up from the Foreshore (where the amusements are), continue up the hill and through the shops at Ramshill. Just after Sainsbury’s/Costcutter and the Ramshill pub, go straight on at the traffic lights, you will pass South Cliff Methodist church on your left, and we’re second left after that (first left is our back road), turn before the Italian restaurant.

On Foot

We are about 10-15 minutes walk from the station. Turn right out of the station and turn right away from the town centre and over the Valley Bridge with its green railings. At the end of the bridge continue up the hill. As the road levels out you will see the shops of Ramshill ahead of you, turn left into West Street (Angie Salon de Beautie on the corner). Keep going to the traffic lights at Prince of Wales Terrace and we’re third right after the lights, including the back lane. We’re the third house along on the right.

For a more scenic route, find your way to the Grand Hotel in town and then head south across the Spa Bridge and up the steps or path on to the Esplanade, and Esplanade Road is second right after the cliff lift – cross West Street and we are the third house on the right.. Alternatively, if you walk along the sea front past the Spa, take the cliff lift, or paths near the cliff lift (possibly stopping at the Clock Café for a cream tea), turn left out of the lift, and Esplanade Road is second right across the road.

By Bus

There are lots of regular buses from the town centre.

Parking

There is plenty of on street parking on Esplanade Road. A voucher for parking is included in your stay.
